The authors explain that although several systemic treatments have been valued for the pleural mesothelioma treatment sulphurizing, the rates of the answer are usually low and no advantages of the survival have been seen. The rate of the answer total, and the rate of the survival progression-free and total of pleural 67 patients of the mesothelioma sulphurizes has been distributed by Dr Dennis C. Talbot of Churchill Hospital, Oxford, United Kingdom, and colleagues in a first line vinflunine therapy phase II survey. The authors return that the rate of the answer total, as distributed by an independent radiologist, was 13.8% (all partial answers), and the Karnofsky baseline performance statute in most patients or maintained (60%) or improved (13.8%). The rate of the total median survival was 10.8 months, rate of the survival of 1 years 36.9% and the rate of the survival progression-free median 3.2 months. The report indicated that only 10% of cycles have been differed due to the toxicity of the hematologic, non survey event related adverse drug, or other reasons. The investigators say that Vinflunine has generally been tolerated well, but must be managed with care to minimize reactions of site injection that occurred in roughly half of the patients of the survey. The authors conclude "These results suggest that the vinflunine is one of the most active only agents in pleural mesothelioma sulphurizing." The researchers added that "the results of this survey, as for rate of the answer and survival, suggest that the vinflunine should be valued besides in pleural mesothelioma sulphurizing after progression with cisplatin/pemetrexed because there is not any other available therapy in this setting."They added besides that the "synergy with cisplatin in the clinical setting should also be explored in mesothelioma."
